Retail Therapy


Humans are impressionable, emotional, and irrational.  We often use "retail therapy" to fix our problems.  Studies show that consumers are more willing to spend money on themselves when they are feeling sad.  I shop for items that enhance my extracurricular activities (skiing, hiking, biking, skating, painting, and roller derby) when I'm feeling down in the dumps.  How do you combat the blues?

  1. With roller derby! It only works when practice runs smoothly though; too many breaks and pauses ruins it for me.
